Offers of Compensation

A rule taking effect in mid-July 2024 prohibits offers of compensation from being displayed on the MLS.

Buyers and sellers may still pursue cooperative compensation negotiated off-MLS, but it must be through direct consultation with real estate professionals.

Buyer broker compensation remains fully negotiable and may include:

  • Payment directly from the buyer
  • A seller concession
  • A portion of the listing broker's compensation

While the MLS will no longer display compensation offers, choice, transparency, and negotiation remain unchanged.
